Pathology
Pathology at Flemington Veterinary Hospital
Blood testing for people is a standard medical practice and will show doctors many things about the patient. This is the same with pets. Flemington Veterinary Hospital has the necessary equipment to do blood tests for your pets which in turn helps us see their medical condition more fully. Another benefit is if we have periodic blood tests on record, we are able to see when and what changes occur over time. This can help us prevent, treat, and diagnose medical issues faster and more accurately and provides our vets with the best tools for helping your pet.
At the Flemington Vet Hospital, we have an in-house Idexx pathology system that can run a range of biochemical and haeatological tests. This allows our vets to rapidly gain valuable information about your pet’s health.
We also work with external laboratories to perform more specialised tests such as histopathology (lump analysis), endocrinology (hormones), bacterial cultures – the list goes on.
Common tests include;
Biochemistry, Haematology, Urine analysis, Dermatology analysis, Canine specific disease testing, Feline specific disease testing, Microscopy and Cytology.
We also have access to an external laboratory to send off additional testing if required. For any other questions simply give Flemington Veterinary Hospital a call on (03) 9372 7655.
